It's called Cromox® Twister Original CATO, it's a German patent from the award-winning Waelder chain factory and it's the only anchor-chain connection swivel in the world with the following characteristics:

Let's stop at this last feature: AISI 318LN marine steel is not very widespread because it is expensive and very difficult to work with.

Its characteristics are a higher breaking load than the AISI 316L stainless-steel normally used at sea, but also - FUNDAMENTAL ASPECT - with a much lower corrosion coefficient and which (obviously if the product is artfully made) does not find in nature the conditions for the initiation of corrosion.

In fact AISI 318LN exceeds the limits attributed to "traditional" marine stainless-steels, also guaranteeing higher breaking loads.

Breaking load higher than the construction material means being able to have not only a connection swivel - AN ESSENTIAL CONDITION FOR US - with a breaking load greater than that of the chain to which it is attached, but also being able to count (with the same load precisely ) on smaller dimensions of the artefact.

In practice, CATO is able to pass through those narrow bow-rollers where a swivel with the same load fails.

The swivel part is equipped with a spherical head so as to allow not only an easy rotation of the anchor to enter its position in its bow-roller, but also the elimination of the nocks of the chain under load, when the anchor line goes in total tension.
