The Reef Rope
that cannot be missing on board
that cannot be missing on board

The more experienced sailors know it, the Reff Rope are "ties-lines" that were originally used to block the furled sails: the mainsail on the boom and the jibs on the lifelines.
Today the Reff Ropes hardly find their historical use on board, except in a few racing boats, but they are almost unobtainable ties-lines, often handcrafted, that those who own them use them in a thousand different functions on sailboats and motorboats.
We are therefore happy to offer you a simple set of industrially produced ropes: Reef Rope by seaEQ.
These are 4 resistant polyester straps, measuring 1,800 mm x 25 mm in black colour, equipped with a bow sewn at one end.
The use, in addition to the traditional one of tying the sails, is to be able to QUICKLY tie any bulky or heavy object to be fixed on board, outside or inside the lockers: fenders, tanks, second anchor, sails in the cove, outboard motor, containers , etc.
The technique of use is more difficult to explain than to do:
- you make one or two laps around the object to be fixed with the Reef Rope
- the current end is then inserted into the sewn loop and tensioned it
- is then closed with a double "neck knot" so as to allow a quick dissolution by simply pulling the current.
