We present the F&B Yachting Shackle textile snap hooks. Handcrafted in Dyneema, it is an extremely useful and ductile nautical article.
The F&B Yachting Shackle textile carabiner features very high breaking loads, lightness, durability and ease of use.
Safe and "non-harmful" accessory, its applications are extremely numerous:
Unlike traditional steel shackles, whose (often undeclared) workloads are much lower, the F&B Yachting Shackle is not subject to deformation, rust, encrustations and is therefore always easy to open (when not under load) and to very long duration.
Its lightness - together with the high breaking load - makes it an ideal application in those situations where even a few grams make the difference: for example as a snap hook on the clew of a gennaker, spinnaker, Code 0 and genoa which, in light wind, they would collapse with little extra weight..
Another feature of the F&B Yachting Shackle is that, unlike the traditional ones, the more it works, the more it tightens and becomes solid and stable.
This makes it the ideal conjunction for many high-load standing riggings such as backstays, halyard blocks (especially at the masthead), mainsail tack, reefing, and even our Walder boom brake.
Its lightness and its "non-harmful" still make it ideal in the use of those maneuvers that slam hard in the wind.
Finally, it is a small accessory to always keep close at hand in order to safely ensure any maneuver in the event of breakage
