It is from the early years that Stazo began the search for alternative materials to expensive and fragle teak: the focus was on something that was non-slip, easy to clean, with a long life cycle, light and very limited maintenance o Nothing.

This is how natural cork has been the first choice from the outset, even with respect to various plastic materials, a choice confirmed in completed research.

Cork is a highly homogeneous natural material made up almost entirely of a cell membrane through which NO channels run.

Its tissue is made up of dead cells composed of a minimum quantity of solid materials and a maximum quantity of gaseous materials, essentially atmospheric air also containing carbon dioxide.

One cm3 contains approximately 40 million cells, consequently, cork granules are excellent thermal insulators capable of reducing heat dispersion by 36% or containing temperatures by 53% (cork is used in the protective heat shields of space shuttles, a of the most exciting applications of the product).

To exploit all the advantages and properties of cork, a hybrid synthetic binder has been developed, improved and adapted to environmental needs: the production plants employ integrated and continuous quality controls, sophisticated high-pressure machinery, controlled cutting machines numerical etc., all to be able to supply entire docks finished and only to be glued.

This is how Marinedeck 2000® was born, the prefabricated marine decks in cork that replace the traditional handcrafted and non-teak ones.
