Flipper, the folding winch handle that doesn't get caught or lost at sea
The easysea® Flipper folding handle meets a wide range of needs of any good sailor.
Its peculiar feature lies in an innovative patented folding system.
Flipper remains in the closed position on the winch both when furling and when releasing the line. thus averting the risk of losing the handle at sea.
In fact, unlike the common handles that must be inserted and removed from the working position at each manoeuvre,
Flipper stays in place without interfering with the line in use (see video).
Its handle can be positioned in two different ways depending on your needs:
- vertically to be able to rotate faster,
- horizontally to have more leverage and therefore more strength.
Flipper has a low weight of only 549 g and is designed to ensure maximum strength.
Made by CNC machining from 6061 aluminum bars; it is in fact extremely light and tolerant to the most violent torsions. The aluminum parts are anodized to avoid corrosion.
The closed handle is 130mm long and 45mm high, in the open position it is 220mm long (with vertical handle): the declared power ratios of most winches are based on these two lengths.
