The net for the fast and safe rescue & recovery on board of man overboard
POP-NET is the system for recovering and rescuing a person who has fallen into the sea (MOB - Man Over Board) - whether conscious or unconscious, collaborative or in panic - simpler, safer and faster.
It is a lightweight system made up of a net and an elastic and self-expanding tube: its dimensions when closed are reduced, approximately the same as those of a ring finger (with a slightly wider circumference but less thickness) so that it can be held, in its canvas bag, either on the internal rail (on the ring finger for example), or stored within easy reach in a cockpit locker.
The use is simple and above all fast:
POB-NET is in fact enclosed in its circular bag (diameter 700 mm, height 70 mm, with step-by-step instructions printed with images) prepared as if it were a launch system: it opens, it is fixed to a halyard (we recommend a spinnaker halyard or a hanger, both already expected to be long), and launch it overboard as close as possible to the Man Overboard which should preferably be leeward and alongside.
During the flight it will open and thanks to the mesh and tubular structure it sinks immediately.
The MOB, even if exhausted or unconscious (but in this case naturally equipped with a self-inflating jacket) can therefore be easily brought back on board using the halyard winch in use.
It is a quick, simple and safe operation, even with people who are injured or in panic and therefore unable to help themselves.
POP-NET can even be used to recover not only floating objects that have fallen into the sea, but also daily to bring the dog on board who has rightly had his bath too.
